Description
Gentamicin Sulfate
Gentamicin sulfate is a water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from the fungus Micromonospora purpurea. It binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and death in susceptible bacteria. It is used to prevent bacterial and mycoplasma contamination in cell cultures and is used at concentrations ranging 0.5 to 50 ug/ml
Formulation: 5 mg/ mL in saline.
