G418 sulfate or Geneticin Sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Micromonospora rhodoranga NRRL 5326. It effects by binding to 80S ribosome and inhibiting the elongation cycle and cause a bypass of nonsense mutations during translation.
